Tell Your Story with Bios

Recent Work - Corvino Biographies

I recently had the pleasure of interviewing nine of Corvino’s essential team members and writing their bios. Corvino is one of my favorite restaurants. It’s where my husband and I extended our first date into dinner. Corvino is a James Beard Award-winning restaurant nationally ranked, with a badass bar program and the *best* burger. Ever. My Bio Writing Process

My process for writing bios is simple yet effective. First, I like to understand everyone’s background a little bit. I write custom questions for each person based on any outstanding experience. Meeting in person is ideal, but sending questions over email works too. I always record my interviews to fully engage in the conversation and let it flow naturally. I find that taking notes on my laptop creates a barrier, and I don’t write fast enough to capture the quotes accurately. I write the bios soon after the interview so that the person and their answers are fresh in my mind. If there is a handful of bios, I send the first couple to my company contact to ensure that the tone is in line with what they want. Once the rest are finished, I share them with the team for any necessary edits.

The Importance of Including Biographies on your Website

Why is it essential to include biographical information on your website? Well, quite simply, it's personable. People want to work with people that they like. And by getting to know you, you’re humanizing your brand and business. A bio sets the tone for what it’s like to work with you. Better yet, bios increase website traffic and help potential customers find the right person for specific inquiries.

Bios are a great way to give your team a sense of ownership. You hired great people, so highlight that! Share their experiences, wins, and accomplishments.

As always, holler at me when you want help writing your website bios!
